How can you preserve the Indian culture in today’s American Society?

Essay Competition

The Kairali Arts Club of South Florida has been dedicated to serving the public in numerous ways and has become an integral part of our community. The Youth Wing of the Club has decided to conduct an Essay Competition for High School Students this year.

Number of Awards: 3

First prize: Cash Award, Plaque, and Essay published in a National Family Magazine Second prize: Cash Award and Plaque Third prize: Plaque

Subject of Essay: How can you preserve the Indian culture in today’s American Society?

Requirements for Entrants:
1. Must be of Malayalee Origin.
2. Must currently reside in the Broward, Miami-Dade, or Palm Beach County areas.
3. Must be in 9-12th grade. Those who graduated high school in 2008-2009 school year and those entering 9th grade in the 2009-2010 school year are also eligible to apply.


Essay Requirements
1. Essay must be typed in Times New Roman size 12 font and must be double-spaced.
2. Essay must not exceed 1000 words.
3. Include cover page containing:
  > Name
  > Address
  > Name of Parents
  > Phone Number
  > Email
  > Age/ Date of Birth
  > Grade Level/ Name of School
4. Cover Page should be e-mailed as a separate attachment .
5. Do NOT write name or any identification information on the actual essay.
6. The entries should be emailed to: kairaliessay2009@gmail.com

7. The Deadline to receive all entries is August 5, 2009.
